This L’Esquisse Blanc de Blancs, a pure and luminous interpretation by Famille Moussé, is a tribute to the vitality of Chardonnay cultivated in a terroir of excellence. Obtained from 100% Chardonnay grapes (harvest base 2023), it is born from the particular green clay parcels located in the municipalities of Jonquery and Cuisles. Here, on deep soils tended under a certified organic (BIO) regime, the plant finds a perfect balance that translates into a wine of millimetric precision and surprising personality.
In the glass, the Champagne reveals itself with a brilliant and sunny robe, a reflection of its fresh and vibrant soul. On the nose, the profile is a hymn to purity: crunchy hints of white-fleshed fruits, spring flowers, and a distinct mineral note emerge, children of an enological management that reduces human intervention to a minimum. A peculiarity that defines its rarity is the use of sulfur dioxide produced internally solely from sulfur mineral, a choice that preserves the aromatic integrity and the naturalness of the sip.
In the mouth, this Extra Brut (dosed at 0 g/L) strikes for its vertical tension and its incredible immediacy. Despite the absence of added sugars, the aging of at least 24 months on the lees and the clayey nature of the soil confer a silky matter and a rare balance for a Blanc de Blancs from the Vallée de la Marne. The sip is tense, elegant, and persistent, characterized by a citrusy freshness that continuously invites you to drink.
At the table, its energy and cleanliness make it an eclectic and refined companion. It is the ideal Champagne to accompany raw seafood, oysters, and white fish tartare, but it also knows how to exalt itself in pairing with fresh goat cheeses or gourmet vegetarian dishes.
An authentic and vibrant cuvée, capable of telling the story of Chardonnay through the unique lens of green clay: a “sketch” of light that celebrates the biodiversity and the artisanal excellence of Famille Moussé.
